PHOTOS FROM ON THE GROUND // BLUC 2011 FIRE SEASON
It's that time of year again where my life becomes a haphazard academic fury, and with the 2012 fire season just over the horizon, I find myself looking back on last summer. It's hard to contain my excitement about the upcoming season, but it's a sad time as well because a few hard-earned members of the BLUC family will be moving on to new pastures. Last summer we endured a lot of pain, worked harder than we knew possible, traveled all over Canada, ate a lot of Wonder Bread, and made 19 awesome friends. We did a lot of dry-mopping, but we worked on some huge fires with real fire activity. It was an incredibly motivating experience, and it's something that I'm going to reminisce about for the rest of my life. From on the ground, this was BC wildfire fighting in 2011. This was the Burns Lake Unit Crew. Dig deep. Be solid. Take pride.
If you enjoyed these, more firefighting photos (including those from the 2011 Slave Lake Wildfire) can be seen on my portfolio website.

As a past member of BLUC these photos bring up a lot of unbelievable memories, just swap out a few faces in the photos and I feel like I just re-lived 5 amazing summers. Happy I stumbled across your page, and thanks for sharing. May the 2012 season be more amazing for you then 2011.
This is the real deal here Chris! These are so damn interesting to look at… GREAT story telling!
